The St. Petersburg/Clearwater Sports Commission has been awarded the 2012 National Softball Association (NSA) Girls Fast Pitch 'B' World Series. Taking place July 23 - 29, 2012, the tournament is anticipated to bring over 120 girls softball teams to the area, with a projected 2,700 visitors and over $2.0 million in economic impact.

Official tournament games will be played at two area locations, with Clearwater's Eddie C. Moore and the Vanech Complex in Dunedin playing host.

NSA has a long standing reputation of hosting successful tournaments across the United States and will showcase St. Petersburg/Clearwater to the athletes and NSA personnel.

NSA was established in 1982 as a full service organization that offers a division of play and a level of competition that youth through adults can enjoy. The NSA Girls FastPitch Program began in 1988 with the very first tournament hosted in St. Louis, Missouri. The Girls FastPitch Program has grown rapidly over the years based on the NSA values that the entire NSA organization is guided by.

COMMITMENT - Dedicated to meeting the needs of the teams, coaches, sponsors and park owners.
PROFESSIONALISM - Strive to promote our continued intellectual growth and to conduct ourselves as dedicated professionals.
CHARACTER - Demand the highest levels of integrity and responsibility to support the National Softball Association.
TEAMWORK - Foster a climate where diversity of thought and expression are encouraged and cooperatively applied to better accomplish our mission.
RESPECT - Appreciate and treat all individuals with respect and dignity
EXCELLENCE - Continually strive for unsurpassed excellence

For the past several years the NSA Girls FastPitch Teams and families have asked to go to Florida as the NSA has not hosted a world series in Florida for the past six years. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater area was selected to host the 2012 event based on its many appealing attributes: its family atmosphere, the beautiful beaches and easy access for teams traveling from the various states. The players, parents and fans will love visiting the area and all of its attractions.
