Coffee with a Curator: 1928-32 - History at the Crossroads in Europe and Florida

Coffee with a Curator: 1928-32 - History at the Crossroads in Europe and Florida

Mar. 4, 2020

Join USF Associate Professor of History Adrian O'Connor and USF Professor Emeritus Gary Mormino for this discussion focusing on the historical context of the "Midnight in Paris" exhibit – 1928-1932. This talk will broaden the scope of the surrealists' struggle by looking at Europe during this time, an age of social crises, political extremes, and imperial tensions. It will also look at what was happening in Florida during this period, with the beginning of the Great Depression, a devastating hurricane, and the opening of the Tamiami Trail.

Cost: Free (parking is free for members as available; $10 parking for nonmembers).
